How do I contact UBM TechInsights if I have a question or concern?

If you have a question or concern about any aspect of the integration or about UBM TechInsights, feel free to contact us at any time (E-mail: teardown@ubmtechinsights.com; Tel. 1-512-338-3600).

How will I access teardown reports through the Web-site at www.teardown.com? Is anything changing?

TechInsights product teardown Web-site - What is now the Portelligent Web-site (at www.teardown.com, or www.teardown.com) - will be rebranded to reflect Portelligent’s integration into the new UBM TechInsights organization. However, the site will continue to function as it has, and will provide Channel Licensees with access to product teardown reports, to their company’s User Resource Area, and to licensed Database Access tools.

All current user accounts will continue to function without interruption, with no change in User IDs and Passwords. Essentially, current Portelligent customers should see no change in gaining access to the information they need.

What capabilities will UBM TechInsights have beyond Portelligent’s work in system-level product teardown? Is anything changing?

As stated in the FAQ note immediately about, the integrated UBM TechInsights will have a silicon to systems to software range of analytical capabilities.

UBM TechInsights is the preeminent provider of sophisticated information services, consulting and management software for technology companies seeking to leverage and protect their technology and intellectual property assets. Why is Portelligent joining UBM TechInsights?

The integration of Portelligent, Semiconductor Insights, and Sanguine Microelectronics into the UBM TechInsights business unit combines Portelligent’s capabilities in system-level product teardown and analysis with those of Semiconductor Insights and Sanguine in IC-level circuit analysis, embedded software analysis, patent portfolio assessment, and IP and technology lifecycle consulting. The union of the three creates a “silicon to systems to software” range of capabilities that is unique in the industry.

The technical staff of Portelligent now form the core system-level product teardown group within TechInsights. Three Portelligent managers – Jeff Brown, David Carey, and Howard Curtis – hold positions on the Senior Leadership Team of TechInsights.

How about my company’s Channel License or contract with Portelligent – any changes there?

There will be no changes. UBM TechInsights will assume all the licenses and contractual obligations of Portelligent, Semiconductor Insights, and Sanguine Microelectronics. The TechInsights management team has a strong commitment to continuing the traditions of the three acquired companies for highly accurate technical work and excellent customer support.

The core system-level product teardown work that populates the seven Channels will continue to be produced by the technical team located in Austin, Texas, USA. During 2010, as we work to expand the range of analyses that can be performed across the organization, we plan to increase the technical resources that can be applied to product teardown.

UBM TechInsights will have a unified sales-and-marketing team, so there will be some changes in account management during 2010. We will keep our primary contacts in customer companies informed of such changes, to assure excellent continuity of service.
