How does TechInsights package and sell its services?

Depending upon customer requirements, we offer our product teardown reports, and related data sets, and analyses in several configurations.

  • Customers can purchase individual product teardown reports, STARs (Strategic Trend Analysis Reports), and Database Extracts. For a listing of all TechInsights product teardown reports, please visit the All Reports Page [link to All Reports Page] on the Portelligent Web-site. You may also find our "Report Sort" search tool useful in identifying analyses of the products of particular makers, or products with specific characteristics [link to Report Sort].
  • Customers who need a small number of TechInsights teardown reports and analyses (usually 3 to 20) to meet their information requirements may be best served with a "Report Bundle." Report Bundles provide discounted pricing versus individual report purchases, and may include a selection period during which the customer may select from among newly posted TechInsights teardowns.
  • Many TechInsights customers need ongoing access to all of TechInsights' analysis on one or more product families. In this case, the "Channel License" is usually the most convenient and economic option. TechInsights currently provides seven Channels of product coverage:

For discussion of which licensing option would best meet your organization's requirements, and for pricing, please contact TechInsights at any time (Tel. 1-512-338-3600; teardown@ubmtechinsights.com)

How do I buy an individual report?

Listings of individual TechInsights product teardown reports are available on the Channel Listings Page for each of the seven TechInsights "Channels." Click on the icons at the top of the TechInsights product teardown home page (www.teardown.com) to access the Channel Listings Page.

There is also a listing of all TechInsights product teardown reports at:

The Report Sort search tool may be helpful in identifying reports of interest:

You may contact TechInsights directly at any time to place an order (Tel. 1-512-338-3600; teardown@ubmtechinsights.com ).

What is a TechInsights Channel License?

A TechInsights Channel License provides ongoing access to all of our analysis on one or more product families, usually for a license term of 12 or 24 months. For customers who need broad access to TechInsights’ library of product teardown analyses, the "Channel License" is usually the most convenient and economic option.

TechInsights currently provides seven Channels of product coverage:

To discuss licensing options, contact TechInsights directly at any time (Tel. 1-512-338-3600; teardown@ubmtechinsights.com).

How does TechInsights determine pricing for sponsored teardown projects?

The cost of sponsored teardown projects is driven by the relative complexity of the product that is analyzed. Some key drivers of product complexity as it impacts the level of effort required to perform a product teardown analysis are the number of ICs in the product, the number of sub-assemblies, the number of substrates, and the extent of the complement of mechanical parts.
