Apple Mac Mini Computer

Full Product Teardown Report

Product Description Referred to by Apple's CEO Steve Jobs as "a stripped down, affordable Mac" , the Mac Mini weighs less than 3 pounds and is about the size of a stack of five compact disc cases. Designed in part for the user that already has a keyboard, mouse, and monitor, the Mac Mini comes in two versions: a $499 model with a 1.25 GHz G4 processor, and a second version with a 1.42 GHz processor for $100 more. The former version is analyzed here. Both versions include an ATI Radeon 9200 graphics processor, 256MB of RAM, a 40 GB hard drive, one FireWire 400 port, two USB 2.0 ports, and a slot-loading optical drive. Both come loaded with Mac OS X Panther and iLife '05 suite software and are upgradeable with optional memory card, Airport Extreme wireless networking and Bluetooth.
