Product DescriptionThe Apple iPhone 4 for Verizon Wireless’s cellular network became available Feb. 10, 2011, creating a CDMA-EvDO alternative for U.S. customers wanting an iPhone. Like the GSM/W-CDMA iPhone 4, the Verizon variant has somewhat enhanced specifications compared to the previous-generation iPhone 3G S, including a higher-resolution display (960 x 640 pixels vs. 480 x 320) and camera (5 MP vs. 3 MP). The Verizon iPhone 4 also supports HD video recording. The front-facing VGA camera on the Verizon iPhone 4 enables video conferences conducted via the WiFi “FaceTime” application to be run between Verizon and AT&T iPhones. The Li-polymer battery has the same rating (3.7 V, 1420 mAh) as that found on the AT&T iPhone 4, with Verizon claiming 7 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time on its CDMA network. As is true of the AT&T version, the Verizon iPhone 4 supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n (802.11n is 2.4 GHz only), Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and A-GPS for navigation.
