Product Description

Of the 6 million iPods sold since their first introduction in 2001, over 2 million were sold in the quarter ending September 15, 2004. The 4th generation iPod was introduced in July of the last quarter, and accounted for most of those sales. The new "iPod photo" looks very much like the 3G model, except, like the 4G, the four control buttons on the earlier model have been incorporated into the same touch sensitive Apple Click Wheel that debuted on the iPod mini. To support pictures, the iPod photo is the first member of the iPod family to use a color screen: a 2in. 64k color transflective display with 220x176 pixel resolution. The iPod photo is available with 40GB or 60GB storage capacity. The 40GB model holds 10,000 songs or 15,000 pictures, runs 12 to 15 hours between battery charges, and is the model analyzed here.
