Product Description

The BenQ-Siemens EF81 is a UMTS clamshell cellular phone released to the market in Q1 of 2006. The EF81 operates on the GSM 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz and W-CDMA 2100 networks. Notable features include dual displays, 2MP camera with 5X digital zoom, internal antenna, 64 MB internal memory, micro SD card slot (expandable to 1GB), USB and Bluetooth for connectivity, internet browser (WML (WAP), HTML, XHTML supported), high speed data transfer (GPRS & UMTS supported), preinstalled screensavers, ring tones, games and media player, video playback (MPEG4, 3GPP, H.263, real video), audio playback (MP3, AAC, AAC+, AAC++) voice dialing, digital voice recording, email (POP3, IMAP4, STMP supported) and programmable keys. The main TFT display is a 2.2 inch, with 262k colors, and a resolution of 240 x 320. The front external display is a TFT, 1.3 inch, 262K color with a resolution of 120 x 160. The Li-ion battery used in the EF81 reports a talk time of 4.5 hours on GSM - 3.5 hours on UMTS, stand-by time is 300 hours on GSM - 250 hours on UMTS. The unit under review weighed 112.9 grams with the battery and measured 94.63 x 51.46 x 15.9 mm in the closed position. The EF81 is manufactured in Germany.
