Product DescriptionThe Casio GzOne Type-V is a clamshell CDMA handset available in the United States market from Verizon Wireless. It is a feature-rich, ruggedized cell phone that has successfully passed military specification (“Milspec”) tests, and builds on the reputation of Casio’s line of “G-Shock” watches. A version of the GzOne was initially introduced in the Japanese market in 2005, where it gained great popularity.
The GzOne is water resistant up to one meter, shock resistant, and has a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash (the flash doubles as a flashlight). The handset has two displays - a 262,144-color, QVGA, 240 x 320 pixel, TFT-LCD internal display and a monochrome, 100 x 100 pixel, STN external display. The GzOne supports Verizon’s VCAST application suite and video service, A-GPS location technology, and both English and Spanish menus. It has picture and ringer ID, 72 polyphonic ringtones, 1xEV-DO support for data transfer, an Openwave 6.2.3.2 micro-browser, support for SMS, EMS, and MMS messaging, predictive text entry, and Brew-based Get It Now 3.1.2 software to run downloaded applications. Casio claims that the 3.7V, 1050mAh battery delivers up to 3.2 hours of talk time and 400 hours of standby time.
