Product DescriptionThe Boxee Box is essentially a set top box that allows free movies and other Web-based content, as well as local media, to be streamed on a television set with HD1080p resolution and Dolby Surround Sound. The unit is manufactured by IT technology company D-Link and uses an operating system from TV software firm Boxee. The Box interfaces with a TV through an HDMI cable (supplied) and with high speed internet either through an Ethernet cable (not supplied) or a wireless connection. Two USB ports are also provided for accessing local content. The unit is controlled by a double-sided radio frequency remote with a QWERTY keyboard and powered by a separate AC adapter. The software provides a simple interface with key features for searching and finding content and for social networking.
