Full Product Teardown Report

Product Description The quad-band GSM, dual-band W-CDMA HTC Magic is powered by Google’s Android operating system. The device is available from a number of carriers including Vodafone, T-Mobile, and TIM, the latter of which was the source for the Magic analyzed here. The 3.2-inch display (320 X 480 pixels) is overlaid with a capacitive touchscreen and changes from portrait to landscape when the device is rotated. The Magic is equipped with WiFi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth, and GPS (with maps provided by Google). A trackball/select button and six dedicated function keys are present on the front face and the back-side 3.2MP camera captures still photos and video. Volume-control buttons are on the side and a microSD card slot inside the battery area provides for additional storage.
