Haier introduces the U80 as a Touch-Screen multimedia phone that does not fall into the category of Smart Phones. Although its form factor resembles that of an iPhone, it does not make use of any of the popular smart phone Operating Systems. However, many functionalities on smart phones are provided to suffice the need of most average users. A large 480 x 320 HVGA touch screen in the devices enables high- quality video playback and smooth graphical user interface. EDGE is supported for a reasonable data rate with internet applications like a Web Browser, Instant Messengers, Online Weather as well as Stocks. Offline applications include Voice/Video Recorder, Organizer, Alarm Clock and Auto-Answer. This device also features a navigation package including GPS and a digital compass for users on the move.
