Product DescriptionThe Ideos S7-104 is the Huawei entry into the growing and evolving tablet market. The Ideos has a 7” resistive touch screen that is quite responsive and precise, but of course lacks the multi-touch of more costly capacitive screens. The provided stylus or optical track-pad can also be used to make a selection. The S7’s Google Android 2.1 OS provides access to frequently used Menus: Home, Web, Entertainment, Communications, and Favorites as tabs located at the screen bottom. All tabs can be personalized with a user’s preference applications. There are drop-down controls located in the upper right corner of the screen as well. Dedicated hard-keys located on the left-side of the device include Home, Menu, and Back while the right side bezel has keys for Call and End along with the Optical Trackpad (good for selecting objects in lieu of a finger or stylus). Unlike some of the competing tablets the S7 features cellular voice calling as well over the unit’s Quad-band GSM/EDGE and dual-band W-CDMA radio. A pair of 2 MP cameras front and rear are featured along with a handy built-in “kickstand”.
