Product Description2010 came to a close with the release of the LG VL600 LTE modem from Verizon Wireless. With LTE currently covering only 38 cities, the VL600 will switch automatically between 3G and LTE, depending on the availability of an LTE network. The VL600’s 3G/LTE speeds are improved by its EV-DO Rx Diversity and claimed LTE MIMO 2x2 enhancements, with download speeds of 5-12 Mbps on a 3G network and at least 50 Mbps on LTE. The modem can also send and receive text messages using Verizon’s VZAccess software. An LTE SIM card is required in order to use the modem, regardless of which network is available. The VL600 connects via a USB connector to any computer or laptop and is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.
