Product DescriptionThe Motorola i425e, available on a pay-as-you-go plan from Boost Mobile, operates on Sprint Nextel’s iDEN network. Utilizing iDEN technology pioneered by Motorola in the 1990s, in addition to conventional cellular communications, this slim, inexpensive handset offers nationwide Push-to-Talk (PTT) service, which Boost Mobile promotes as “Boost Walkie-Talkie.” The i425e supports text messaging (with T9 predictive input); Instant Messaging through AOL, YAHOO! and MSN, an OpenWave 7 micro-browser; downloadable music playback (WAV and MP3 formats); and JAVA™ (J2ME) games and applications.
This 86 gram bar phone also features a hands-free speakerphone with voice-activated dialing, GPS support for “Boost Navigator,” vibrator alerts, a 600-entry address book, flight mode, a calendar, voice memos, and digital TTY/TDD service. English, French, and Spanish are supported. The small, color STN-LCD display has a resolution of 130 x 130 pixels and supports 65,536 colors. There is a built-in mini-USB connector and a 2.5mm headset jack.
The i425e’s 3.7V Li-ion battery is claimed to deliver 2.8 hours of talk-time and 120 hours of standby operation.
