Product DescriptionThe Bar form Nokia 1680 “Classic” is offered in the U.S through T-Mobile. The 1680 is a no-frills handset, focused on youthful consumers who want imaging and messaging capabilities in a simple-to-use package. The 1680 includes a VGA camera that takes both still photos and videos. Photos can be shared by e-mail and video via MMS. Video can also be viewed on the 1.8- inch TFT-LCD color display.
Standard PIM features are also included with the 1680, namely: an organizer w/ local calendar, expense manager, advanced calculator, measurement converter, and a 1000-entry phonebook. An English-language dictionary is also included, with a Chinese version available in China.
In the messaging area, the 1680 supports SMS (with option to set ringtones as SMS alerts), MMS1.2, Nokia Xpress™ audio messaging, IMPS v1.2 (Instant Messaging and Presence Service), and e-mail supporting the POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP protocols. The 1680 provides WAP2.0 (XHTML) browsing, GPRS Class 10, EGPRS Class 6, SAIC 3GPP, and SyncML 1.2 connectivity. Music reproduction is limited to mono.
Nokia reports that the 1680 delivers 7.6 hours of talk-time, and 424 hours of standby operation with the 3.7V, 700mAh, Li-ion battery.
