Product DescriptionThe trend in physiological monitoring, specifically innovation in Biophotonics, continues with the Nonin Onyx® II Model 9560 Bluetooth 2.0 Oximeter. This is a wireless fingertip Oximeter which provides a simplified and secure way to monitor a patient’s % of oxygenated hemoglobin in arterial blood. It can display, store, or transmit the data to a monitoring device via Bluetooth technology.
There are two LEDs present within the meter housing and a detector / sensor arranged on the opposite side. One LED emits in the near IR and the other emits Red light. The patient’s finger is placed within the oximeter between the emitters and the detector. The absorption of light through the finger will vary with the % of oxygen contained in the hemoglobin of the blood. The RED and IR absorption signals are compared and an algorithm calculates the % of oxygen in the blood as well as the pulse rate, with the results displayed on the device’s display.
