Product Description The Pentax Imaging System Division of Hoya Corporation has been building ruggedized cameras since 2003. The Optio W80 is the mid-2009 addition to the series and the most rugged to date. The W80 is designed to withstand water pressure to depths of 16 feet (5 meters) for up to two hours. It is also shockproof and can withstand drops of up to 3.3 feet (1 meter) as well as operate at temperatures as low as -10° Celsius. Besides the rugged design, the camera features a 12.1-megapixel image sensor; 5X optical zoom; and 2.5-inch, 230,000-dot anti-reflective color LCD. It can also record HD movies with sound, has a super-macro mode for taking photos as close as 1cm, and employs the latest technology, including Face Detection, Smile Capture, and Shake Reduction.
