Product DescriptionThe Blackberry 8707v adds W-CDMA support to last year's 8700 GSM/EDGE model with greatly improved data transfer speeds. Research In Motion teamed with carrier Vodafone to release the newer version in the UK in April of 2006. Like the older model, the new 3G version features a 65,536 color QVGA display, a 35-key QWERTY keyboard with thumb wheel, an embedded wireless modem, and a hands-free speaker-phone. The 8707 uses ambient light sensing for optimum backlighting. Non-cellular connectivity options include Bluetooth and Mini USB. The 8707v remains an email-centric terminal which adds basic PDA and extensive cellular protocol support in a 110.0 x 69.5 x 19.5mm form factor. The 3.7v, 960mAh, Li-Ion battery delivers a claimed 5/2.75 hours of talk time (GSM/WCDMA) and 400 hours of standby time.
