Product DescriptionA bare-bones phone that makes phone calls and does little else, the Sagem 226 is rebadged here as the Vodafone 226, an entry-level unit for Vodafone's UK "Pay As You Talk" program. This GSM 900/1800 phone is truly stripped down to essentials—no camera, no music player, just a 65-gram “candy bar" with a simple 1.5-inch display. The low-cost format is dominated by a pair of devices which rope in most of the essential communications functions, exclusive of memory. The feature set, though spartan, does include a version of the popular Sudoku game, known here as MySudoku, along with 160-character text messaging, voicemail, calculator, alarm, currency converter, and 16 pre-installed ringtones. Hands-free operation is limited to the speakerphone. Vodafone claims 3 hours of talk time and 240 hours standby time are available from the 3.7V, 670mAh Li-ion battery.
