Product DescriptionJoining the array of smartphones in the Galaxy series is the Galaxy Ace GT-S5830L, a middle-of-the-road touch smartphone announced by Samsung on January 26, 2011. Possible variations exist, given that other model numbers have been noted, including GT-S5830T, GT-S5830B, and even GT-S5830. Operating on quad-band GSM + EDGE & 850/1900 MHz W-CDMA + HSDPA networks, the Ace is powered by a 800 MHz processor running Android 2.2 (Froyo). The Ace features a 5 MP rear-facing camera capable of QVGA video recording and with autofocus and LED flash. The front-side sports a proximity sensor located above the 3.5” TFT-LCD display (16M colors; 320 x 480) and multitouch capacitive touchscreen. Battery life for the Ace’s 3.7 V / 1350 mAh Li-ion battery is estimated at 6.5 hours for 3G and 11 hours for 2G. Standby times are 420 and 640 hours for 3G and 2G, respectively. Other features include WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, FM radio w/ RDS, A-GPS w/ navigation, Micro USB 2.0, Samsung TouchWiz 3.0 user interface, voice recorder, and microSD card slot (max. 32 GB).
