Product Description

Holding up to 500 songs, Samsung’s Juke SCH-U470 is a 2GB music player with mobile phone capabilities. The Juke has a form factor similar to Nokia’s 7280 (see Portelligent report #118.17-050308-1e), but uses a switch-blade style opening scheme versus the slider style 7280. Given the slender design and attendant small display, the Juke is not surprisingly missing functions such as an HTML browser, PC Sync, and e-mail, though it still has some notable features. Since the Juke is exclusively for Verizon Wireless, it uses Verizon’s VZ Navigator service to get you wherever you need to go. With the MMS feature, you can share downloaded pictures or pictures taken with the Juke’s VGA camera. The camera has a night-shot feature for poor lighting situations, and can apply effects such as normal, black & white, sepia, negative, emboss, green, and aqua to photos. And you can use either the SMS option for a quick message like “Hi, how are you?” or the EMS option to send a longer note or even a melody or small graphic to a friend. Hands-free support comes from the Juke’s speakerphone or Bluetooth capability. Besides the 2GB of memory for music storage, the Juke has 64MB Flash and 32MB RAM of user memory.
